Yes, a third party—such as a family member—can contribute to your Penfold pension. However, the payment must be made outside your Penfold account, such as through a bank transfer or a standing order from their own bank.
How it works:
The third party sets up a standing order or bank transfer from their bank to your Penfold pension, using your special payment reference number, which is the 7-digit number that contains a mix of numbers and letters. Your special payment reference is presented to you when you create an expectation for your arriving bank transfer under ‘’Payment reference’’.
When the payment reference number is not used, the payment will land in our unidentified payments system and will be returned to the sender in 10 days.
Once the payment reaches us, we may contact you to confirm the contribution was intended for you before allocating it to your pot.
If someone else is planning to contribute to your pension, just send us a message and our team is happy to help and provide further instructions!
