This guide explains how to set up a salary sacrifice pension scheme in Brain Payroll and export a PAPDIS file for pension contributions.
1. Add a Pension Scheme
Go to Company Settings
Select Pensions / Auto Enrolment
Click Add New Scheme
Enter scheme details (Provider, Defined Contribution, Auto Enrolment)
2. Enable Salary Sacrifice
Edit the pension scheme settings
Select Salary Sacrifice as contribution type
Ensure employee contributions are set to 0%
Increase employer contribution to include total contribution (e.g. 8%)
3. Assign Employees
Go to Employee List
Open employee record
Assign pension scheme
Confirm salary sacrifice agreement is in place
4. Run Payroll
Process payroll as normal
Check employer pension contributions include sacrificed amount
Finalise pay period
5. Export PAPDIS File
Go to Pensions / Auto Enrolment
Select Export Pension Files
Choose PAPDIS (CSV format)
Select pay period and generate file
6. Upload File to Pension Provider
Log into pension provider portal
Go to Contributions Upload
Upload PAPDIS file
Review and confirm submission
