Setting up a Penfold Pension in FreshPay

👉 Tip: You'll need the 'EmployerID,' a unique code assigned by Penfold to each employer. Typically, it starts with PEN followed by your Company Number. You can find it on the dashboard 👇


To set up your Penfold scheme open FreshPay and navigate to the Pension tab. Select add new provider. This will open a pop-up window, where you should:

  1. Choose Penfold from the Select pension provider drop-down menu

  2. Tick Set as an auto-enrolment pension scheme

  3. Enter a Scheme name, for example: Penfold Pension.

  4. Tick Automatically send to Penfold

  5. Enter your Penfold Employer Id

  6. Enter a Group Name, for example: Basic contributions.

  7. Enter percentages in the Employee contribution and Company contribution fields.

  8. Select a Contribution basis from the drop down menu

  9. Select a Relief type from the drop down menu

Click Submit – and you’re all done with the Penfold setup! Now, you’re ready to enrol employees into the pension.

Enrol employees in FreshPay

  1. In FreshPay, click on an employee and open their Pension tab

  2. Click Add change to Pension for an existing employee

    or Setup pensions for a new employee

3. When you choose Enrolled or Joined you can pick Penfold from the dropdown list, choose the group and save - now your contributions are ready to be processed.
