Setting up Penfold Pension in Brain Payroll

This guide will walk you through how to set up your Penfold pension scheme in Brain Payroll and export a PAPDIS file for contribution uploads.

1. Add a new pension scheme

  1. Go to Company Settings

  2. Select Pensions / Auto Enrolment

  3. Click Add New Scheme

  4. Enter scheme details (Penfold, Defined Contribution, Auto Enrolment)

2. Configure contributions

  1. Select Qualifying Earnings

  2. Set Employee: 5%

  3. Set Employer: 3%

  4. Confirm thresholds if required

3. Assign employees

  1. Go to Employee List

  2. Open employee record

  3. Assign Penfold scheme

  4. Confirm enrolment status

4. Run payroll

  1. Process payroll as normal

  2. Check pension deductions

  3. Finalise pay period

5. Export PAPDIS file

  1. Go to Pensions / Auto Enrolment

  2. Select Export Pension Files

  3. Choose PAPDIS (CSV)

  4. Select pay period and generate file

6. Upload to Penfold

  1. Log into Penfold dashboard

  2. Go to Contributions Upload

  3. Upload PAPDIS file

  4. Review and confirm
