Automatically sending pension data (via integration)

If you’ve set up the Penfold integration in Pento:

  1. New joiners and leavers

    • Pento automatically reports these to Penfold — no action needed.

  2. Contribution files

    • On your payroll run date, Pento automatically uploads the pension contributions file to Penfold.

    • This includes enrolments, opt-ins, opt-outs, and contribution amounts.

Key considerations

  • Opt-outs after payroll
If someone opts out after payroll has been finalised, the change won’t appear in Pento until the next cycle. You’ll need to manually adjust contributions.

  • Payment
Pento does not handle the payment of contributions.

Exporting pension data manually (optional)

If you're not using the integration, or you’d like a backup copy of your data — you can export a PAPDIS file from Pento manually:

  1. Go to Payroll

    • Navigate to the payroll run you want to export from.

  2. Click “Reports” or “Pension Export”

    • Look for a Pension or PAPDIS report under exports.

  3. Select the correct scheme

    • Choose your Penfold scheme from the list, if prompted.

  4. Download the CSV file

    • Save it securely to your device.

  5. Upload to Penfold

    • Log in to the Penfold employer dashboard and upload the CSV file in the Payroll Pension or Add Employees Only section.

👉 Tip: You can use this manual method to send early enrolments if you want employees to receive their opt-out notices before payroll is finalised.
